  1. Greg, When you create your boot media with the Media Wizard, there will be an Optional Components page. There you could browse to a folder containing all your optional files and complete the wizard. This folder will be in the %SmartDeploy_Media%\z\Tooldirectory\ location of your boot media. While in the boot environment you can access the optional files by using the %SmartDeploy_Media% variable which is set on boot to reflect the drive letter of the device used to boot the machine. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  2. Hello, To boot to SmartPE and be able to browse to a USB drive, or map a network share, you may need Mac USB/Network Windows PE drivers included in your platform pack, which we do not support. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support

  5. You should be able to unless you're mapping to a share/connecting to a domain with different credentials you made the answer file with. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  6. You should be able to map a network share. The 1231 error indicates "The network location cannot be reached" Can you access the share from your host machine? If you can, you may need the change the network settings on your virtual reference machine. Perhaps to NAT or bridged. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  7. Hello, You can create an answer file that will have all your desired settings and mappings so you don't have to input or map to a WIM with every deployment. To do so, please perform the following: - Boot to your boot media - Select "Deploy an Image" - Proceed through the Deploy Wizard choosing all desired options, mapping the drive, etc until you reach the Summary page - Click the Export button and choose the type of deployment you want. Unattended or attended. - Open the Media Wizard - Proceed through the Media Wizard until you reach the Optional Components page - You'll see a browse button to browse to an answer file. Click browse and browse to the above answer file you exported and complete the wizard - Boot to newly created media - If you chose unattended you will see a 1min countdown before your deployment starts. If you chose an attended deployment you will see all the options already populated with the settings you chose previously when you proceed through the Deploy Wizard Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  8. To successfully capture a Hyper-V virtual reference machine, please boot your virtual reference machine to the SmartPE environment and select the capture option and proceed through the capture wizard. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support

  11. What other packs do you have imported in your default.ppk? If you delete all the USB 3.0 nodes from your Windows PE sections of your packs, and recreate your boot media are you able to see your SmartDeploy USB drive? Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  12. Do you have the latest version of SmartDeploy 1.1.2010? If not, please upgrade, then re-create your boot media and let us know if this fixes the issue. We worked on our driver priority in this release.

  22. Hello, There is a requirement that SmartDeploy be installed to a physical machine. There are a number of reasons for this. The main reason is that the software is reliant on virtualization for creating the reference machine. This is generally done via a desktop virtualization product for simplicity, and virtualization inside virtualization doesn't work out that well. Additionally, the media wizard allows you to create USB and CD media, which when virtualized doesn't always work out. However, if for some reason you must install SmartDeploy onto a virtual machine, you can open the .vmx of your virtual machine and add the following: SMBIOS.reflectHost = True Please note, installing SmartDeploy on a virtual machine is not supported
  23. Hi John, When you are manually inputting the data into the deploy wizard are you enabling the local administrator account? It looks as though your answer file is not enabling the administrator account? Is your answer file pointing to the same image you're browsing too when you map manually? SmartDeploy's answer file does not affect which logins are present or not. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
