  1. Hi Ray, The platform pack has been updated with Audio and Wireless drivers if you download the more recent pack. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  2. Hello, Usually, users see this if something on the SmartDeploy host is affecting the Capture Wizard such as anti-virus. If you have any anti-virus, disable and try recapturing. If you still have issues try capturing with the machine powered on. Boot the virtual reference machine to the C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartDeploy\SmartDeploy Enterprise\SmartDeploy_x64.iso. Select the capture option and capture the image to a network share, which can also be the local host. This process is documented in the User Guide on page 49. Then deploy that image and let us know your results. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  3. DJ, The single platform packs will have the PE drivers included. As long as you make your WDS boot wim with the single packs you want (You can select multiple during the media wizard process) the correct Windows PE drivers will be injected into the WDS boot wim. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support

  6. Hello, Once you receive the error, dismiss it and close out of the Deploy Wizard so you're returned to the SmartDeploy splash screen. Click the link to open a command prompt and browse to the following log and save it to a USB/Network share: X:\Windows\Temp\Deploy.log Send deploy.log to support @ smartdeploy .com and we can take a look what may be going on. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  7. Hello, SmartDeploy supports deploying from a RAID. You will want to copy the image to your RAID and then create boot media via our Media Wizard. Then map a network share to that raid and deploy. You can find out more about this process in our User Guide here. Unfortunately, SmartDeploy only supports deploying Windows images at this time. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  8. Hello, Once the Deploy Wizard reboots the machine for the first time you can take out the USB stick. That's when the image and platform pack is applied so after the first reboot the machine is loading from the hard drive and not the USB. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  9. Hello, Are you running 2.0.1070? If so, you'll want to upgrade to 2.0.1080 as we fixed some issues regarding agents/firewall settings. You can download the latest preview build here. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  10. Hello, Using \\Machinename\C$ or \\Machinename\share will work. Ensure you have an IP address in the bottom right corner as well. You could send us your answer file to support @ smartdeploy.com and we can take a look at your answer file if you would like. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  11. Hello, We received your email as well, but wanted to reply here as well just in case someone else experiences this. You will want to change the host's language to US/English and you shouldn't receive this error anymore. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  12. Hi Javier, If you're interested, we do have a preview build for our zero touch remote deployment if that would help you out. E-mail support @ SmartDeploy.com and we can send you a link. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  13. Hello, Yes, the latest version of SmartDeploy can successfully boot to a NVMe SSD as our PE environment is built on Windows PE 5.1 which has native support for it. If you are deploying Windows 7, which doesn't have in box support for NVMe drives a driver will have to be added to the platform pack. If you're deploying Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 you will be good to go. If the Windows 7 pack you're deploying with doesn't have the NVMe driver we can update the pack for you as well. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  14. To others receiving this error. If anti-virus is installed on your virtual reference machine, uninstall it and then re-capture/deploy as some anti-virus can cause this issue as well. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  15. Hello, Unfortunately, is something SmartDeploy isn't designed to do. One OS per machine. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  16. Hello, You can find the client install in the C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartDeploy\SmartDeploy Enterprise folder once you have it installed. To install the client silently, use the following parameters: SDEClientSetup.exe /S /v" CONSOLEHOST=servername /qn" Where the servername is the machine with the SmartDeploy console installed on it. I have also attached instructions on how to install the agent via group policy if you’re interested. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  17. Hello, Yes, the same steps should apply. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  18. Are you using SCCM R2? If not, you will have to use that version as it supports Windows PE 5.1 which our Media Wizard creates. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  19. Hi Ron, This is happening because Microsoft has released the Windows 10 1511 (also known as "Threshold 2") update as an in-place upgrade via Windows Update. This means that if you created your VM using older Windows 10 OS media, such as that which was released last July when the OS first came out, the 1511 upgrade would automatically install via Windows Update, leaving the virtual reference computer in a state where it then cannot be successfully Sysprep’d and deployed. In order to resolve the issue, you'll need to recreate your virtual machine using OS media that has the 1511 update built in. Generally speaking, any new ISO from a Microsoft source with "1511" in the filename should include this update. You can verify that you have media with the 1511 update built in by creating your VM, installing Windows from your media, then immediately running the command winver, which will display a screen indicating your current Windows version. The correct version should be Microsoft Windows, Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.3). Sorry it's not better news - by releasing the update in this manner, Microsoft has definitely caused a few inadvertent deployment headaches. But you should hopefully not have to deal with this again once you've recreated your VM. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot us an email at support (at) smartdeploy.com, and be sure to reference this DeployCentral thread. 20. Hi Kenneth, Perform the following: Create a folder called script (For Example) and include your .bat file into that folder Open your platform pack and expand both the Dell and Model node Right click the operating system node and select Add Browse to the script folder you created above Click OK Click on the script folder and click Add under tasks Add the following task: Cmd.exe /c [PlatformFolder]\Script\script.bat Set the phase as First Logon. You may have luck in using First Boot, but this will have to be tested Save the platform pack and deploy using the updated pack. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  21. Hi mapote, Local group policy will not persist through a Sysprep and deployment – depending what settings you’re trying to update, you may find the method described here useful: http://www.frickelsoft.net/blog/?p=31 Although from what I’m finding, this method will only succeed for settings that are machine-specific (in the “Computer Configuration” node), not user-specific (in the “User Configuration” node), as the latter are tied to a specific account identifier that will not match on the target machine. If you have any further questions, please shoot us an email at support (at) smartdeploy.com, and be sure to reference this DeployCentral thread. 22. Hi Lia, Thanks for taking the time to evaluate SmartDeploy! Looks like we have to update the bluetooth driver in this pack. Can you email support@smartdeploy and refer to this thread and we can update you when the updated pack has been posted. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  23. Hello, To be clear, I just meant that file should appear as a result of the license wizard running successfully - but I missed that you were running the trial version the end of your comment, sorry about that. Since you're on the trial, you'll need a trial extension key in order to run through the License Wizard - go ahead and email us at support (at) smartdeploy.com with a request to extend your trial, and we'll send further instructions. Be sure to reference this DeployCentral thread in your message. Regards, SmartDeploy Support
  24. Hello, Keep the AV disabled and try relicensing via the License Wizard. You should have a C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartDeploy\SmartDeploy Enterprise\SmartDeploy.lic file. Then recreate your boot media. Let us know your results. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
  25. Hello, Unfortunately, no. You would have to run the Media Wizard locally with the USB plugged in, or remote into a machine with SmartDeploy installed and with a USB device plugged into that machine. Thanks, SmartDeploy Support
