Force cancel "ExecutingTasks?"

Hi BeetleJelly,

To see what occurred, we will need to take a look at the following log from the endpoint you're attempting to deploy to:

C:\Program Files\SmartDeploy\ClientService\SDClientService.log

Submit a ticket here and refer to this thread and attach that log and I can take a look.

Thanks,

Devon

I've been testing some custom "applications and tasks" packages and pushed one to a client that is now stuck with the status of "ExecutingTasks".
How can I force cancel the task? The "cancel pending" option is greyed out.

Did you ever get this resolved?

I have one specifically that on initial tests, the quiet install worked, but ran into some machines that have another application open that needs to be closed in order for the install to complete.  Unfortuntaly it's not an easy one to close as it's a virtual client.

Any suggestions to cancel the task, so I can initiate a after hours reboot of machine and run the install?

Are you looking for a remote option from within the console? If so one doesn't exist. However per SmartDeploy FAQ you can do the following on the machine itself:

"When this happens, use the Task Manager to end the installation process, or restart the client PC. Then, delete the SD folder in C:\Windows\Temp if present."
