Norris
Hello, I'm trying to re-image some machines by USB and cannot get O365 to install, even though the application pack is included in the Answer file. I created the pack through the wizard/console if that info is helpful. An IP address is displayed when deployment is running so it has an internet connection. This worked in the previous version of SmartDeploy (V2) but cannot get this to work now that I'm on V3. Any insight on this is greatly appreciated. Jeff Harris
Application Packs are installed after Sysprep completes, and the SD Client is installed. So it's possible to "beat" the installations to the desktop. Check that you see the activity of running the pack in the log at C:\Program Files\SmartDeploy\ClientService\SDClientService.log. Also look in Task Manager for the Office installation process.
Norris
Looks like there was a huge delay (like 4hrs) for it to install on it's own. Is that normal? The logs did say there were errors with internet connection but the machine showed internet connection the entire time. Is this normal?
DJ.
O365 can take forever to install if it downloads from the cloud. I've seen 4 hours regardless of connection speed, has to do with Microsoft servers. Rare I see that long these days but figured I'd give my 2 cents
