mwineinger
I am attempting to create bootable media from SD to a virtual removable media device. I am able to create and mount a virtual removable media device which identifies as removable media. When trying to create the media from the SD console I do not see this removable media as an option. Any ideas?
SmartDeploySupport
Unfortunately, this is one of the drawbacks of using a SmartDeploy virtual host. We have seen some brand USBs work with Media Wizard being virtualized and some not. If you want to create USB boot media you will need to install SmartDeploy on a physical host. We have had some users create an ISO via the Media Wizard and use Rufus to create USB boot media with that ISO as well and they have said that worked. That being said, if you run into issues the only supported way would be to install SmartDeploy on a physical host and create USB media that way. Thanks, Devon SmartDeploy Support
mwineinger
Luckily this is a physical host so I am able to write to a USB. Creating a virtual USB would just be easier for certain tasks.
