  1. What exactly does a Platform Pack Refresh do and how do I know whether or not it ran successfully?  I'd selected to do a "refresh" on a PPK and got message "1 Platform Pack was submitted for refresh", however, the file date of the PPK didn't change nor did the Platform.log file list anything about a refresh.

I am running SDE version 2.0.2010.

  2. Can the above steps be re-run until the default profile is tweaked to my liking or do I have to get it right the first time? Meaning... if I run sysprep then realize there's a couple of settings that need to be changed, can I go back into audit mode, make the additional changes, then run sysprep again to capture the updated default profile?

  3. Is there a recommended or suggested method of customizing the default local user profile for Windows 10 with the current version of SmartDeploy?

I tried creating a new profile, customizing the profile, renaming the profile, using the registry to load ntuser.dat etc., but not all settings are carried over when a new user profile is created.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  4. I am attempting to run the capture wizard, but get the following message before the virtual disk volumes are populated on the "Select Virtual Disk Volumes" screen:

    [Arg_ExternalException]

    Arguments:

Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Often the key and arguments provide sufficient information to diagnose the problem. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=106663&Version=5.1.30514.00&File=mscorlib.dll&Key=Arg_ExternalException.

I did upgrade SDE yesterday, from 2.0.1010 to 2.0.1050.

  5. Hello everyone. I am new to the DeployCentral Forum.

I am attempting to install a trial version of SmartDeploy Enterprise and get error "Error 1920. Service SmartDeploy Enterprise Console Service (SDEConsoleService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services".

I've tried running the install with my user id (I do have admin rights), logged on as administrator and used the option to run executable as administrator, and still get the same error message.

Any ideas? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
