  1. What exactly does a Platform Pack Refresh do and how do I know whether or not it ran successfully? I'd selected to do a "refresh" on a PPK and got message "1 Platform Pack was submitted for refresh", however, the file date of the PPK didn't change nor did the Platform.log file list anything about a refresh. I am running SDE version 2.0.2010.
  2. I get the following message when running the Media Wizard: "Unable to inject the necessary drivers. Code 2.". Despite getting this popup, I can see that the process is continuing to run, meaning that it's created the split image files and it is now copying the image files. Any idea what this message means? I upgraded from 2.0.2000 to 2.0.2010 yesterday.
  3. I went thru the process to create a SmartDeploy image then created the offline deployment media. After booting into SmartPE and selecting my options, the deployment process starts but then eventually get a pop-up message that reads "Please insert disc 0". Any idea what is causing that popup? I am running SmartDeploy Enterprise version 2.0.2000.
  4. Can the above steps be re-run until the default profile is tweaked to my liking or do I have to get it right the first time? Meaning... if I run sysprep then realize there's a couple of settings that need to be changed, can I go back into audit mode, make the additional changes, then run sysprep again to capture the updated default profile?
  5. I did a test on the actual reference machine by creating local user account "poweruser". Logged on as poweruser and both the Start menu and Cortana was not responsive (nothing happened when I clicked on the Start button). Waited a good 15 minutes and still no Start menu. Logged off as user then logged back on. Start menu is now functional.
  6. On an imaged Windows 10 machine, when a user logs in for the first time, the Start menu and Cortana is not functional (nothing happens when you hit the start button). It works only after a restart. Has anyone encountered this issue?
  7. Is there a recommended or suggested method of customizing the default local user profile for Windows 10 with the current version of SmartDeploy? I tried creating a new profile, customizing the profile, renaming the profile, using the registry to load ntuser.dat etc., but not all settings are carried over when a new user profile is created. Any help will be appreciated.
  8. Issue resolved. VM was in a bad shutdown state. Thanks for the help!
  9. I am attempting to run the capture wizard, but get the following message before the virtual disk volumes are populated on the "Select Virtual Disk Volumes" screen: [Arg_ExternalException] Arguments: Debugging resource strings are unavailable. Often the key and arguments provide sufficient information to diagnose the problem. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=106663&Version=5.1.30514.00&File=mscorlib.dll&Key=Arg_ExternalException. I did upgrade SDE yesterday, from 2.0.1010 to 2.0.1050.
  10. Thanks for the reply. I've sent an email to support@smartdeploy.com requesting Windows 10 driver availability for my older Lenovo models and submitted the quote to my boss for approval. Also updated SDE to version 2.0.1050.
  11. I just created a Windows 10 (64-bit) reference machine and captured the image. Regarding platform packs, some of my older machine types only list Windows 7 and Windows 8. Will either of these work for Windows 10? I am running SmartDeploy Enterprise version 2.0.1010.
  12. I've tried diabling the anti-virus program and unjoining the domain; neither worked. I also sent a copy of the log file to SmartDeploy Support.
  13. Hello everyone. I am new to the DeployCentral Forum. I am attempting to install a trial version of SmartDeploy Enterprise and get error "Error 1920. Service SmartDeploy Enterprise Console Service (SDEConsoleService) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". I've tried running the install with my user id (I do have admin rights), logged on as administrator and used the option to run executable as administrator, and still get the same error message. Any ideas? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
