  1. *FIX*

I'm copying this from my other post to someone else's related thread:

When I went from the original Windows 10 build to the Creators Update in my image, SysPrep would not complete successfully on the newly imaged SmartDeploy machine. SmartDeploy was useless at this point. I had to go to Microsoft Volume License and download the most up-to-date .iso of Windows 10, including the Creators Update. I recreated my image using this install media, burned SmartDeploy to USB and everything worked fine.

Moral of the story: Don't upgrade your image. Rebuild it with a newly installed (and updated) OS.

  3. Can I please get instructions on how to change the default SmartDeploy Directory within the settings menu. I see that it is a drop down, which tells me that I should be able to modify a config file to specify another location.

My reason for this is that I have all of my platform packs, answer files, and images on a network shared server that I have mapped to the SmartDeploy host computer (drive letter H:). I've tried modifying the config file at: C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartDeploy\SmartDeploy Enterprise\Resources\Configuration\SmartDeploy.config

I've tried a UNC path as well as the mapped drive letter, which happens to be: H:\Smartdeploy

Once modifying the config file I restart the console service, as well as the program, and I go back into the settings menu and the default location changes to a blank default dropdown with a secondary option to choose the C:\Smartdeploy. How do I get the H:\Smartdeploy to show up in this list.

I don't see instructions for installing via group policy.

I found the instructions in the User Guide. Open up the SmartDeploy Enterprise software, click on Tools. Click on User Guide and go down to page 86.

  5. I have a batch file I've created that will disable the windows firewall on the local machine when launched. I would like to include this as part of the image or more specifically, I would like it to be added and ran after the image is run and after the computer has been added to the domain. I've configured SmartDeploy to add the computer to the domain, btw.

What is the best route to go to complete this task?
