  1. It does appear to be the PE network driver. I was able to work around this by creating offline deployment media.
  2. Unfortunately it appears that the Platform pack for the Precision 5510 did not help. I am working on building offline media if I can find my large usb drive and see if removing the network from the equation helps.
  3. Thanks, apparently I can't type today. I meant to say the Latitude 7275 which there is a platform pack. I will go ahead and try to bring in the Precision 5510 pack to see if that helps.
  4. We are demoing a Dell Latitude 7525 tablet along with the Dell thunderbolt dock. We are getting a blue screen "Kernel_Security_Check_Failure" during the winpe imaging process. It seems to happen pretty consistently at the point where the system starts pulling the image across the network. System is getting an IP address so the PE network driver appears to be working correctly. We have applied bios updates to both the tablet and the dock. Unfortunately we can not exclude the dock from the configuration for the imaging process because the tablet itself has no USB ports.
  5. Sure thing! I just figured I would run it by here first and see if anyone noticed any problems with dell laptops.
  6. I am having trouble with the Dell Latitude E5420 and E5520 platform packs. All drivers install fine except for the wireless. The device is intel centrino advanced N w/ wimax 6250. From the looks of it, the drivers are in the downloadable platform pack, at least it has some sort of wimax, and the pack has been updated since the last dell driver release. Any ideas why the drivers wouldn't be applying?
  7. Does smartdeploy support servers and if so are there any platform packs out there for HP proliant servers?
  8. Previously created windows 7 x32 and x64 reference images using virtual box, moved the files to our server and captured both images as wim's. Trying to do a new capture off of the same vdi files (for WDS) and when I attempted to capture either vdi file I now get the message "The virtual disk must contain at least one volume" even though the vdi files have not changed at all. Any ideas?
  9. Since the usb 3 driver is included in the platform packs for the applicable models it seems logical that this should be added to the PE section also. Either that or give the ability in platform manager to copy and paste drivers into different sections rather then needing to go through a whole extract/import process when the drivers are already in the pack.
  10. We are purchasing new laptops that have both usb2.0 and usb3.0 ports. We are able to image with no issues on the usb2.0 ports but when we use the 3.0 ports the custom answer file fails to run. Imaging by manually entering the information still runs correctly. The combined package file that we use has been updated with the package files for this model of laptop and the usb stick has been created using the new package file.
  11. Thank you, I am not sure how I missed the option when I exported last time, but this time when I did so it asked me for the account used to connect to the shares.
  12. Strange, I thought I had done that. I will try again and let you know.
  13. I am having a problem trying to automate our deployments with a custom answer file. I can create the basic file but when the PE boot environment tries to connect to the server share (2008 R2) it always asks for credentials. The shares give read access to 'everyone' and I have looked at local policy and made the changes that should allow the connection without requiring credentials. Unfortunately none of that has worked and instead I am looking at just using a service account as the credentials. Unfortunately when I try to add the account info in the UNC path in the answer file it does not work correctly and I always get asked to supply the path when I boot. This is an example of what I am trying to do: <select_image> <image_file>\\FQDN\e$\Share\imagename.wim password /USER:domain/serviceaccount</image_file> <image_name>Windows 7 x32 Reference</image_name> </select_image> any idea what I am doing wrong here?
