The USB 3 will deploy the image much faster than the USB 2. We were originally using USB2 and images were taking 40-50 minutes to deploy. With USB3 it takes about 5-10 minutes now. It will vary depending on the quality of the USB.

I was having this issue as well when opening the console. For whatever reason the SmartDeploy API Service wasn't running on the PC I was opening it from. Once I started that it opened no problem.
